About West Virginia Division of Corrections

On July 1, 2018, the West Virginia Division of Corrections was finally formed. However, you should note that they also had several previous corrections types of departments before this one. This one is just the current one taking over. The first-ever prison in the great state of West Virginia was known as the West Virginia State Prison. This facility was nestled in Moundsville, West Virginia. This facility was one of the longest facilities that was in use in West Virginia as well. What is special about the West Virginia Division of Corrections is that they do not just work with adult offenders, but they also work with their youth offenders as well. The program or department has been with their youth offenders for many, many decades now. This is also a big priority to them as youth offenders will translate into adult offenders when they grow up.
