FCI Big Spring or also known as the FCI Big Spring is a medium-security federal facility.

The FCI Big Spring is situated in Big Spring, Texas. Adjacent to the FCI Big Spring is a minimum-security satellite prison camp. The FCI Big Spring also runs this minimum-security satellite prison camp.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

The FCI Big Spring has two different types of mail when it comes to incoming mail to the facility.

The mail that you and your friends and family will send will be labeled as general mail. What is general mail, you may ask?

Common mail that will be opened not in the presence of an inmate. This mail is typically only sent by the family and friends of the inmates.

The other type of mail is special mail. This mail will be opened in front of the inmate. This mail is typically mail that the inmate gets from their legal counsel.

Sending Money

While the FCI Big Spring gives an inmate three meals a day, inmates will still need money to purchase other items from the prison’s commissary.

You will have the chance to send funds by mailing a money order, using MoneyGram or even Western Union.

Using MoneyGram and Western Union will incur a fee.

Phone calls

You will never be able to get in contact with an inmate via telephone, if you try to call. The FCI Big Spring will NOT allow you to leave a phone message for an inmate either.

Inmates will have to make a call to you via telephone. Inmates will be permitted to have a standard 15-minute phone call with you.

The visitation hours for the main campus at FCI Big Spring and the minimum-security satellite prison camp are the same.

Prior to visiting, you will need to fill out the visitor’s application.
