Mills County Sheriff’s Office operates the Mills County Jail. The Mills County Jail is the facility where everyone that is arrested within Mills County will end up.
The Mills County Jail only houses adult offenders. The facility will not take in offenders under the age of 18.

Inmate Search
For you get information or records on an inmate in the Mills County Jail, you will need to come down to the Mills County Sheriff’s Office. You will be able to get copies of the records here. You will be able to get the records from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm.
If you are just looking to see if an inmate is being detained at the Mills County Jail, you can either call the Mills County Jail or the Mills County Sheriff’s Office with the inmate’s in question name and date of birth. They will be able to look up in the system if the inmate is in the facility or the inmate is not.

Sending a Mail/Care Package
You will NOT be permitted to send an inmate books, magazines, or newspapers. The only items you will be permitted to send letters and photographs.
All incoming mail will need to have the inmate’s name on it. All photographers should have the inmate’s name on it as well.
Ensure that you are fine with a correctional officer reading anything and everything that you send the inmate. If you are not comfortable with it, then you may not want to send it as it is a good sign that it will get sent back to you.
Sending Money
You can drop off a money order at the facility or you can wait until you visit the inmate and drop the money order off then as well.
It is up to you. The money order will need to have the inmate’s information on it, so it can be deposited into the correct account.
Phone calls
The Mills County Jail uses Consolidated Telecom for their inmate’s phone service. You will need to create an account once the inmate is fully booked and processed into the Mills County Jail for the inmate to start being able to call you. You will have full access to the account where you can put the money on it, so the inmate will always have access to the phone during the phone hours.
Visitation
Visitation in the Mills County Jail will be broken down by gender and the first letter of their last names (for males only).
When visiting you will be required to show off your driver’s license. If you do not have your driver’s license you will need to get a state ID.
You can visit a male inmate during the following days and times:
If the men’s last name starts with A through M, you can visit them on Saturday between 1 pm to 5 pm.
If the men’s last name starts with N through Z, you can visit them on Sunday between 1 pm to 5 pm.
You can visit a female inmate during the following times:
Saturday between 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
