About Texas Department of Criminal Justice

The Department of Criminal Justice in Texas is the organization that will keep close tabs on all inmates in the state-operated facilities, along with the probation and parole offices as well. All these facilities are in direct operation and in similar agreements with the Department of Criminal Justice in Texas. This department all started back in 1848 when it was finally passed thanks to the second Texas Council. This all had to do with a demonstration that was put forth to help build up the Texas state prison at the time. It was accompanied by a three-part directorate that needed the senate approval prior to anything that could be done. To this day, the Department of Criminal Justice has been expanding and adding in new facilities to keep up with their demands. The Department of Criminal Justice in Texas is one of the biggest organizations that is through the world with how many people get sent to a state facility on a yearly basis.
