When you first arrived here at the Abbeville County Jail, they will be thoroughly searched and processed into the facility.

The inmate will NOT be permitted to bring any personal items into the facility. However, if they have cash on them, they will be encouraged to deposit that money into their commissary account for later use.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

You may send inmates in the Abbeville County Jail mail that consists of cashier’s checks, money orders, or certified checks. These items must be under $500. You can also send inmates in the Abbeville County Jail mail that consists of letters and photos as well.

You will NOT be permitted to send anything else to the Abbeville County Jail unless you have approval from the Superintendent. If you send in other items in question, your items will be sent back to you and the inmate will be the one who will have to pay for postage.

Visitation

If you would like to visit an inmate in the Abbeville County Jail, you will need to be 18 years or older. If you are under the age of 18, you will need to be accompanied by a legal guardian the entire time.

Minors will need their birth certificate or guardianship paperwork to be allowed in the visiting area. Adults will need to show their driver’s license to be allowed in the visiting area.

Inmates will only be allowed to have one visiting session a day. This visiting session can last up to one hour. The visiting session will only allow 3 people this will include clergy and children as well.
