The Hamilton County Justice Center does not quite have their roster online just yet. But the state of Iowa used the VINELink. VINELink is just as good as the inmate roster from the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Hamilton County Justice Center allows incoming and outgoing mail.

All mail should be addressed to the inmate along with having the sender's return address.

The Hamilton County Justice Center will NOT accept packages.

All mail that is coming from the inmate’s legal counsel will be opened in front of the inmate it is addressed to. All general mail will be opened, but not in the presence of the inmate.

Inmates will be permitted to get the newspapers, but they must come from the publisher.

Sending Money

If you have money on you when you are arrested, you can put that money into the commissary account.

However, if an inmate requested you to put money into his or her commissary account, you can do so in two various methods.

When visiting the Hamilton County Justice Center, you may have noticed a kiosk in the lobby. That kiosk is where you can deposit funds using your credit or debit cards, or cash.

Phone calls

You and the inmate will need to make some choices when it comes to the phone calls. Inmates can use collect calls. Collect calls will not cost an inmate a dime, but it will cost you money.

The Hamilton County Justice Center also uses Prodigy Inmate Phones as well. This service is not free. This service will need to be paid for. Inmates can move money from their commissary account and put it in their phone account to use this service, if they decide to not make collect calls.

Visitation

Visits at the Hamilton County Justice Center will be limited to 15 minutes. Visitation schedule goes by housing units. You will need to know what housing unit the inmate you are looking to visit is in.

When an inmate is booked and processed into the Hamilton County Justice Center, they will have to fill out a visitation list. On the visitation list, they can only mark down four people. Inmates will be allowed to make changes to this visitation list once every 30 calendar days.
