About New York City Department of Corrections

The New York Department of Corrections accommodates the consideration, care, and control of individuals who were blamed for violations or condemned or indicted to one year or less of sentence time. The Department supervises 12 prisoner offices, 9 of which are on the famous Rikers Island. Furthermore, the Department is composed of two different clinic Jail facilities and court keeping offices in all precincts. During annual year 2016, the Department took care of more than 63,000 endorsements and worked through a normal day by day detainee population of approximately 9,790 people. Our committed workforce is for either the casually dressed or comfortably dressed staff members who want to speak to the New York’s BOLDEST people.
