Medicare

Medicare in Nevada is a federal health insurance program for individuals 65 and over and younger individuals with specific disabilities or end-stage renal disease. The coverage is divided into:

Part A covers hospital services, Part B covers outpatient services, and Part D covers prescription drugs. Nevadans can opt for these or choose the Medicare Advantage (Part C), private plans that include Parts A and B and often Part D, plus extra benefits.

Additionally, Medigap, private policies supplement costs not covered by Original Medicare.

Over half a million individuals are enrolled in Medicare in Nevada. The Nevada SHIP provides free insurance counseling and assistance to beneficiaries. Nevadans can review their Medicare options annually during the Open Enrollment Period, from October 15 to December 7. Plan availability and costs may vary based on location, health status, and income.
