Inmate Search

The Alabama Department of Correction has made it super easy for you to find information on any and all inmates that they have custody of.

You can search through the roster that they have made public. This roster does not only contain inmates in the Decatur Work Release, but inmates throughout the other Illinois state facilities.

Sending a Mail/Care Package

Inmates do not have many privileges, but one privilege that they love is getting mail. They love receiving letters and photographs.

You can send these items to the Decatur Work Release. Just make sure that everything has the inmate’s full name on it, so it does not get lost in the prison mail system at the facility as well.

Sending Money

JPay is a popular inmate money service that many of the facilities throughout the United States uses. The Decatur Work Release also uses JPay. You will need to create an account to get started depositing money to an inmate in the Decatur Work Release.

Phone calls is just one of the limited things inmates will be able to do when they are in the Decatur Work Release. Each housing unit will be equipped with telephones where the inmate can make that important call home.

Inmates are encouraged to stay in constant contact with their loved ones back home as a part of their rehabilitation process.

Visitation

Visitation in the Decatur Work Release will be dependent on whether the inmate is in general population or in segregation.

If the inmate is in general population, these inmates can have visitors daily between the hours of 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

You will be required to arrive no later than 4:30 pm to the Decatur Work Release for visitation. If you arrive later than that, you will be denied visitation for that day.

You should note that general population inmates are permitted to only having six visits every calendar month. Two of these visits can happen on holidays or weekends. With these visits three visitors will be permitted to visit at a time. Visits can be up to 4 hours, if the visitation room is not overcrowded.

If the inmate is in segregation, these inmates are allowed visitors daily between the hours of 9 am to 2 pm.

You will be required to arrive no later than 1 pm to the Decatur Work Release for visitation. If you arrive later than that, you will be denied visitation for that day.

You should note that segregation inmates are permitted 2 visits a month. These visits can last an hour and they can have two visitors as once.
